LAGC Volunteer Gardening In 2018, the LAGC and Taking the Reins joined forces. Our members volunteer and help with tasks in the onsite fruit- and vegetable-garden, which was originally created by Enrich LA, but is now managed and maintained by Garden Instructor Matt Heidrich and the student girls. LAGC Volunteer Gardening Due to heavy rain, classes took place indoors. Misty taught a class about rabbits in one of the horse stalls inside the barn. LAGC Volunteer Gardening Matt held a cooking class using vegetables and herbs from the onsite garden. He taught the girls how to make lentil soup, mint/chamomile tea, popcorn seasoned with olive oil and salt, guacamole, hummus and toasted bread.
