 Florence Nishida - Asian VegetablesFlorence Nishida, botanist and mycologist, educates our members about growing Asian Vegetables. Florence is the co-founder of LA Green Grounds, which empowers residents in South LA to access fresh, healthy, organically-grown food by teaching and organizing garden-building “dig-in” events, and converting water-wasting lawns into food gardens.  Kreigh Hampel - RecyclingKreigh Hampel served as Burbank’s Recycling Coordinator for 17 yrs and has been involved with recycling programs for 45 yrs. Kreigh's extensive knowledge is impressive and with his enthusiasm he easily captured our attention :) Kreigh is also passionate about soil health, nutrient cycles, microbiology, and diverse biological systems. He is also an AVSA advanced judge and director. Our members were treated to a virtual tour of Stephen's extraordinary collection of the most beautiful African Violets and Streptocarpus, and we learned all the basics about these colorful beauties.
